Bundles are a type of discount where you group related products and apply a discount to the entire group.
With bundles, you can:
Combine two or more products into a "package"
Apply a discount to a combination of products
Set the discounted price as percentage-based or as a fixed amount
Define bundles per sales channel
Introduction
Bundles in Brink Commerce allow you to offer discounts on groups of related products, encouraging customers to buy more. All bundles are organized within Bundle Groups, which serve as a central hub for managing settings like active channels and time limitations. This tutorial will guide you through creating a Bundle Discount, organized within a Bundle Group.
Please note: If you already have existing Bundle groups, you can add Bundles to them instead of creating a new one. If so, open the desired bundle group and then skip to step 5 in this guide.
Steps to Create a Bundle Discount
1. Navigate to Bundle Groups
In the Merchant Portal, go to Discounts and then select Bundle Groups.
2. Add a New Bundle Group
On the Bundle Groups page, click Add New Bundle Group in the top right corner.
3. Fill in General Settings
On the Create Bundle Group page, start by entering:
Bundle Group Name: Give your bundle group a descriptive name.
Active Dates (Optional): Specify the date range when the bundle should be active, if applicable.
Click Next to proceed.
4. Select Store Groups and Markets
On the next page, decide where this bundle group will be active:
Activate for All Channels: Select this option to make the bundle group active everywhere.
Select a Subset of Channels: Choose this option to activate the bundle in specific channels.
If selecting specific channels, first choose the Store Group, then select the individual Store Markets.
When done, click Next.
5. Create Your First Bundle
On the following page, it’s time to create the first bundle. A bundle must have at least two item rules (selection of products) to work, so let's start with the first one.
Click Add Products to New Item Rule to start.
6. Set General Terms in the Dialog
In the dialog that appears, set the following options:
Exclude Discounted Prices: Select this to exclude products already on discount.
Exclude Full Prices: Select this to exclude products that are not discounted.
Number of Items: Enter the minimum number of items that must be added to the cart for the bundle discount to activate.
7. Select Products for the Bundle
Choose the products you want to include. There are three ways to do this:
Product Parents: Select individual product parents (e.g., a T-shirt with size variants like small, medium, large).
Categories via Tags: Use tags to select categories of products.
Combining Methods: You can combine individual product selections and categories.
Exclusions: Optionally, exclude product categories using tags.
Click Add in the top right corner of the dialog to finalize your product selection.
8. Create Additional Item Rules
Back on the Add Bundles tab, your first item rule (labeled “Item Rule 1”) is created.
Important: You need at least two item rules to form a bundle. Click Add Products to New Item Rule to create additional rules, repeating the process until you have the desired selections.
9. Add the Bundle Discount
Below the item rules, select the type of discount:
Percentage Discount: Enter the percentage discount to apply.
Fixed Amount Discount: Set a fixed amount for each active currency. For each currency, enter the amount in minor units (e.g., 10000 for DKK 100.00).
10. Add the Bundle
Once you have configured the discount, click Add Bundle.
Repeat this step to create additional bundles if necessary.
11. Proceed to the Result Tab
Click Next to move to the Result tab.
Here, you’ll see an overview of the channels and bundles you’ve configured. Click the chevron next to each row to expand and view more details.
12. Review and Edit if Necessary
If you need to make edits, select the corresponding tab at the top of the page and adjust your settings.
13. Save or Activate
When satisfied with the setup, choose:
Save: To save a draft of the bundle group.
Save and Activate: To make the bundle group active immediately.
