As Black Week 2024 wraps up, I find myself reflecting on what’s been a standout year for Brink Commerce—both in growth and in the strides we’ve made with our platform.
For years, Black Friday has been a high-stakes moment for any eCommerce business. Traffic spikes, surging orders, and systems pushed to their limits. This year was no different in terms of demand, but for us, it wasn’t stressful. It wasn’t chaotic. It was business as usual—and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
Performance That Speaks for Itself
Compared to last year, we’ve seen a substantial jump across the board: more customers, more transactions, and greater overall volume. But what stands out isn’t just the growth—it’s how we handled it. Our serverless architecture on AWS did exactly what it’s designed to do: scale seamlessly, absorb massive demand, and deliver.
While others might have been bracing themselves for traffic surges, we spent our time where it matters—making sure our customers had the tools they needed to succeed. No last-minute scrambling, no wasted energy. Just confidence that the platform would perform. And it did.
Continuous Improvement—Even When It’s Busy
For many companies, November means freezing new updates to avoid risks during peak periods. Not us. We’ve never believed that “busy” means you stop improving. This year, we rolled out over 800 updates to the platform, and in November alone—during Black Week—we delivered 98 updates. That’s 98 improvements, new features, and fixes at a time when others are standing still.
Here’s the kicker: we did it all without downtime. Not a second lost. No maintenance windows, no interruptions. Because that’s what SaaS should look like—reliable, flexible, and constantly moving forward.
Why It Matters
This isn’t just about us patting ourselves on the back. It’s about how we’re redefining what merchants should expect from their eCommerce platform. For too long, platforms have forced businesses to make trade-offs: stability or innovation, flexibility or reliability. We don’t think you should have to choose.
By removing operational headaches—no servers to manage, no traffic limits to worry about—we’ve given our customers the freedom to focus on growing their businesses. And by continually improving our product, even during the busiest times, we’re showing that innovation doesn’t have to come at the cost of stability.
Looking Ahead
Black Week 2024 was a testament to this approach: no surprises, no compromises—just results. And as we look to what’s next, I can confidently say we’re only getting started. There’s more to come—bigger ideas, smarter tools, and even more ways to help merchants scale.
